Who we are

Essential Medical Billing & Consulting is a medical billing and revenue cycle management company based in Jericho, New York, working with practices across the United States. We handle outsourced medical billing, claim submission and follow-up, denial management, accounts receivable recovery, payment posting, eligibility and benefits verification, provider credentialing and payer enrollment, and billing audits.

Our clients are independent physician practices, specialty practices, clinics, behavioral health providers, therapy practices and ambulatory surgery centers — organisations where billing is somebody’s second job, or where one person leaving takes the whole revenue cycle with them.

Hamza Furqan — Co-Founder

Hamza co-founded Essential Medical Billing & Consulting and has over twenty years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations. He leads the operational side of the business: how claims are worked, how denials are categorised and appealed, and what a practice should expect from a billing company.

How we work

Three things shape how we run an account, and they are the same three things we would tell you to check in any billing company, including this one.

• Denials get worked, not resubmitted. Every denial is categorised by root cause, appealed with evidence where there is a case, and fixed upstream so the same denial stops recurring. A billing company that simply resubmits is charging you for motion.
• A/R is chased by bucket, oldest and largest first, with payments validated against your contracted fee schedule rather than assumed correct. Being paid is not the same as being paid the right amount.
• You see the numbers. Accuracy, turnaround and collections are sent to you weekly, not left in a portal you have to remember to log into.

What we will tell you honestly

Outsourcing billing is not right for every practice. Where claim volume is high enough and the in-house arithmetic works out better, we will say so — and if the actual problem is a pile of aged A/R or a credentialing backlog rather than your billing process, that is a scoped project, not a long-term contract.

We would rather lose a bad fit at the first conversation than six months in.

Where we work

We are based at 50 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 102, Jericho, New York, and we work with practices in all 50 states. Onboarding is remote, and new clients can start with a 30-day pilot running in parallel with their current setup before committing to anything.
